Frquently Asked Questions

Any tips for how to prepare for my session?
  • First and foremost, get a good nights sleep the night before your session.  If you show up tired, you’ll look tired in your photos, and no one wants that.
  • For boudoir sessions, select or purchase some lingerie that makes you feel confident and beautiful.
  • The night before your session, get your “go bag” ready with any clothing, jewelry and makeup you’d like to use during your session.  This relieves a lot of “day of” stress because everything is ready to go.
  • Eat only a light snack, such as a piece of fruit, in the hour or so before your session to avoid having a full stomach.
  • Be aware of the timing of your menstrual cycle when scheduling your session as any physical discomfort you experience during the session may be reflected in the photos.
  • Limber up with some basic stretches before arriving for your session.  Contrary to what some may think, holding a pose can be hard work and a little warm-up stretching will go a long way to make sure you’re not sore afterwards.
  • Treat yourself to a manicure in the days leading up to your session so your nails will look great!  I do recommend either going with a clear finish or a light pink color, those always look great!
  • If you are one who enjoys the results of an eyebrow threading or any kind of waxing job, I’d recommend having that done at least a few days before your session so you will look and feel your absolute best for your session.
What should I wear during my session?

For boudoir sessions: Most boudoir sessions have time enough for two or three outfits, so I recommend bringing your “date night” lingerie, the set that makes you feel super sexy and confident every time you wear it; an outfit that pushes you outside your comfort area; and one other option of your choice.  In past sessions the third option has been a bodysuit, a corset, a silky negligee, a bathrobe, a man’s dress shirt, or deciding to go nude.

For artistic nude sessions:  The recommendation is to wear loose fitting clothes, such as a sweatshirt and sweat pants, with no under garments for at least an hour before your session.  Clothes that fit snugly, such as bras and form-fitting leggings have a tendency to leave depressions in the skin.

A note about colors and patterns:  As a general rule, bright, vibrant colors and busy patterns should be avoided.  While they may look great in person, they have a tendency to not photograph well and over time will look dated.  If  you need a bit of helping deciding what to wear, send me a picture and I’ll let you know if I think it would work well.

I don’t like anything I currently have and I’m not sure what to buy: For an additional fee we can go shopping together, or if your schedule does not permit that, I am happy to act as your personal shopper and purchase some options for you.  Please let me know if you’d like more information about this service.

Can I bring a guest? Who should I bring?
While most clients choose not to bring a guest, you are certainly welcome to bring one guest to the session if you like.  I would ask that you let me know ahead of time if you will have a guest so that the proper arrangements can be made.

Most guests are a welcome addition to a session as they often help the client relax and enjoy the experience. However, please understand that if your guest creates a negative environment that they will be asked to leave the room.  I want your session to be a nothing but a wonderful experience for you and negativity in any form is not welcome.
Can I do a session with my significant other?

You bet!  I’d love to do a photo session with you and your significant other.

How long is a typical session?

The typical session lasts between 1-1/2 and 2 hours.  To date, this has been more than enough time to get a great selection of amazing photos for you to choose from.

If you choose the option to use a Hair and Make-Up Artist, please plan to arrive at least 2 hours before your session.

Can I bring my own music for the session?

Yes you can!  I have a portable speaker we can connect to your phone so we can both enjoy your playlists.  Alternately, I have a my own playlists that we can listen to.  In either case, the volume will be kept at a moderate level so that it doesn’t interfere with our conversation and the posing directions I’ll be providing.

Will my pictures be posted anywhere?

Generally speaking, the answer is no, they will not be posted anywhere.  There are two exceptions though:

  1. For my out of town clients, your photos will be posted to a private online gallery so you can select the photos you’d like to purchase as prints, wall art or to include in an album.
  2. For select clients, I will ask permission to share selected photos on social media and my website so potential clients can see examples of my work.
How long does it take to get the products I ordered?

Generally speaking, orders will be ready approximately 2 weeks after you’ve made your selections.
