About the company
Corsets and Lace is the Boudoir and Intimate Photography branch of Corey Chapman Photography.
While active in photography since 2016, the company wasn’t legally formed until 2019. Organized in Henrico, VA, I proudly serve clients in Richmond, Virginia and beyond. How far beyond? I’ve traveled as far as Vancouver, BC for a session (travel charges may apply).
Corsets and Lace specializes in creating unique boudoir and artistic nude photos, including maternity versions, for my clients. Clients are welcome to include their significant other in the session so long as it is understood that “funny business” will not be allowed. I love incorporating client ideas into sessions, but there are some things I just won’t photograph.
I almost forgot to mention why I chose to specialize in boudoir and intimate photography. The short answer is that I love seeing the uncontrollable smile on my clients face when they see their finished photos. I love being a part of something that brings so much joy, especially when a number of my clients have suffered from low self esteem or viewed their body in less than positive ways. There are other reasons too of course, but that’s the main one, that’s the important one.
All about Corey
Hi there, I’m Corey!
I’m what you could call an “extroverted introvert”. Due to some life experiences early on I’ve always been a bit of a loner. Don’t worry though, I’ve worked hard to be personable and outgoing and I even manage to be charming at times.
My taste in music is pretty diverse, ranging from Mozart to Enigma to The Bangles to Leonard Cohen and the Pet Shop Boys. If you’re curious about any of these artists, let me know and I’ll be happy to recommend a few songs for you. During sessions, I usually have something playing in the background but you are definitely welcome to bring your own music.
I love to travel – I’ve been to the Czech Republic, Austria, Scotland and all over Canada. I’ve also been to Romania three times and at one point was sure I had met my future wife. Sadly, the idea of a long distance relationship, especially one where we’re literally half-a-world away, was too much and things stopped before they really got started. Life moves on, but I still love to tell the story about how she and I met.
That’s just scraping the surface of who I am, but it touches on some important things. Now it’s your turn, I love hearing about who my clients are so I can work a few things into their session that are meaningful to them.
